It was the Singapore National Celebrations here again in Adelaide, gathering all the Singaporeans from the universities in Adelaide. This time it was held at the Stamford Plaza Hotel, with a wide spread of yummy delicious food prepared by Stamford.

The Guest of Honour was Counselor Steven Yarwood who came along with his wife Emily Yarwood.

Singapore High Commissioner's Student Welcome Reception

The Singapore High Commissioner's Student Welcome Reception was recently held at Crown Plaza, creating an opportunity for the High Commissioner and the Overseas Singaporean Unit to meet with the Singaporeans here in Adelaide, not only from Flinders University but also from University of Adelaide and UniSA.

At one of the highest floors in Crown Plaza, was where everyone got to mingle and meet new people and most importantly have fun accompanied by the very awesome food.

Lina, Sooann, Amanda and Elaine feeling all excited about what's gonna happen!

Firstly, a very warm welcome speech by Mr Goh Kok Wee, who represents the Overseas Student Unit. He introduced us about what OSU was about, and how important it is that overseas students get together.

Also, a very warm welcome by the High Commissioner Mr Albert Chua who flew in specially from Canberra.

A few brief introductions conducted by the president of SSA Flinders, Wei Zhi, and the present of UniAdel SSA, Shahza and the student representative from UniSA.

Students listening attentively to the speeches made by the important people!

The very yummy spread of food prepared by Crown Plaza, and the crowd who attended the event happily chatting and meeting new people over dinner.

Singapore High Commissioner's Student Welcome Reception

The Singapore High Commission and the Overseas Singaporean Unit (OSU) would like to invite fellow Singaporean students to a Welcome Reception in Adelaide by HE Mr. Albert Chua, Singapore's High Commissioner to Australia.

Purpose of Function: Get-together for High Commissioner & OSU to meet the Overseas Singaporean Students in Adelaide

Picnic at Elder Park

The Picnic at the very pretty Elder Park by Torrens River on the 3rd April was a success thanks to all! We had heaps of food, games and fun and a pretty good turnout on such a nice sunny day.

We played some games including "Bunny and Egg" since it was Easter soon! (its actually a modified version of "Dog and Bone")

I think it was a carrot!

And the other game we played was "Poison Frisbee"..!

It actually seems pretty hard to aim and hit someone with the frisbee. But glad everyone had lots of fun that day.
